Often times, first editions aren't the best. Books are the exception. The Prologo Nago Evo TR is based on the popular Prologo Nago saddle, but is the evolution of that shape into something greater. The TR version simply takes it a step further.
The saddle shape starts with a slender nose similar to the Choice. The width remains fairly consistent till the seat area where it widens out. Overall dimensions are 280x134mm. With a mostly flat saddle shape, the Nago Evo will force most people up on their sit bones and take pressure off the Perineal area. Further reducing pressure is the Prologo AD456 padding and complementary base. The saddle base—in the TR's case a 27% carbon fiber injected polyamide structure—is designed to flex at different sections of the saddle more than others. The AD456 padding is a ultra soft padding on the nose for comfort when Time Trialing, a medium softness in the Perineal area which actually decreases pressure, and a firm density at the sit bones for correct pelvic support. The TR version of the saddle features the aforementioned increased amount of carbon content over the base model's 18%, heat-treated solid Titanium rails for increased stiffness, and a more supple microfiber cover versus the base model's microfiber. These differences, though seemingly minor, add up to create a saddle that transfers more power to the pedals and is more comfortable on long rides than it's competitors. Currently ridden by Filippo Pozzato and Frank Schleck, it's certainly not slowing them down.
